Our History
In 2004, Paul and Lisa Madson began the ministry of Global Training Network (GTN). After 25 years serving in the pastorate (first as an associate pastor and then extensively as a church planter and senior pastor), Paul experienced an increasing desire to help meet the growing global need for pastoral and leadership training throughout the Majority World. His awareness of this need began in the late 1990’s via several international trips to do pastoral training.
After much prayer and consultation with fellow pastors, mission leaders, and close friends, Paul and Lisa decided to transition out of the pastorate and into full‐time missions work. In June of 2004, they formed Global Training Network, an organization devoted to training, equipping and encouraging pastors, church planters and Christian leaders around the world.
Since 2004, the ministry has grown from a staff of two to over 150. The majority of GTN’s staff have served in full-time pastoral ministry for 25 years or more.
While the work of GTN initially began in north India, it has now expanded to 85 nations throughout the Majority World.
