Why should I participate?
You love the Bible, and your ability to read and grasp it is an incredible gift from God. Sadly, many in the Majority World do not have this gift of literacy. How should that reality affect the way you teach and train these so-called Oral Preference Learners (or, OPLs)? What teaching strategies/ approaches should you adopt to enable OPLs to better connect the Bible to their own lives and the lives of their people?
Our own Craig Weaver has been a student of orality for years and will share his expertise with us in this two-part webinar:
PART 1 will unpack the many differences between Oral and Literate Preference learners and then explore practical ways to bridge that gap.
PART 2 will be a practicum in which Craig Weaver demonstrates how to teach OPLs, using biblical eldership as a teaching example.
Parts 1 & 2 will be offered one week apart. We encourage you to participate in both parts.

Why should I participate? We have devoted our lives to training leaders—but what difference is it actually making? As we pour into leaders, how is it impacting their lives…their churches…their communities? Is our training re-shaping their attitudes, their habits, their relationships, their families, and their walk with God? How can we know? What questions should we be asking? What indicators of transformation should we be looking for?
Part 1 will provide a simple evaluation tool for your use and explore:
Why evaluate? What’s the biblical case for evaluation?
Why is measuring life change or impact so difficult…and so necessary?
How might we determine whether learning is actually happening?
Part 2 will provide an example of a rich evaluation process and explore how we might:
Identify the appropriate “indicators of transformation”
Build effective feedback loops into our training process
