About Dr. Doug and Joan
Joan and Doug served from 1986 - 2003 in pastoral ministry, started Your Next Step Ministries in 2004, and in 2013, joined Global Training Network. Joan completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in nursing, and a Certificate in Bible and Missions at Columbia International University.
The Dormans have 7 children, and a growing number or grandchildren. Joan and Doug live in Myrtle Beach, SC and enjoy walking, beach time (surfing for Doug), cycling, writing, teaching, discipling, mentoring, and coaching. Doug completed an undergraduate degree from Asbury University, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a PhD at Biola University in Intercultural Studies. Doug also serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia International Seminary.
