About Chris & Tara
Chris came to saving faith in Christ in college. He immediately threw himself into the study of God's Word and was discipled by people who helped him grow quickly in his faith. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Arizona State University in Religious Studies and later, his Masters of Divinity in Great Commissions Studies from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Shortly after college, he met and married his beautiful wife Tara and together they've raised four children – Taylor, Trevor, Rylee, and Alexie.
Chris served in all aspects of local church ministry for over 20 years since college, ranging from worship leading, children’s ministry, college age ministry, counseling, preaching, discipleship, etc. In 2008, he began to gather a team to plant Grace Church in northwest Phoenix and has faithfully served as the Lead Pastor for 15 years. His emphasis has been to encourage and equip the saints for the joyful work of ministry and God has given both faithfulness and fruitfulness. Tara has been a vital means of grace to both Chris and the church, using her gifts in music, teaching, and discipleship to make an impact.
It's that same heartbeat to equip and encourage that is now driving Chris and Tara to join the staff of Global Training Network. They want to leverage all that they've been taught and learned over the last two decades of ministry to help resource other pastors, leaders, and church planters who lack access to the same kind of training. With the strength that only a team of partners in ministry can provide, they are launching out this year to equip under-resourced pastors in the Majority World with the gospel. These pastors will, in turn, equip their churches and the gospel impact will ripple across the world.
