About Chip & Jean
Over three decades, Bangalore, India has been home for Dr. Rev. Chip and Jean Kingery, where their three children were born. In 1986, they began the ministry of proVISION ASIA, dedicated to the empowerment and advocacy of people affected by disabilities. While focusing on the spiritual needs of these marginalized people, proVISION ASIA also addresses medical needs, job placement, education and socioeconomic needs of this community. Ten percent of India’s 1.3 billion population are comprised of people with various disabilities.
For over a decade, Chip brought to GTN a passion for transformation among the global disability community, training in disability ministry and the theology of suffering. Chip and Jean were always on the cutting edge of ministry, working alongside indigenous and committed staff. The first app was created, MPOWER, which reaches out to Indian churches helping them navigate the Luke 14 Mandate.
Chip and Jean both worked for Joni and Friends in Agoura Hills, California. The vast experiences they encountered helped strengthen their call ‘back to India’ eight years ago. Their eldest daughter and her husband, Keturah and Danny Gray, joined the ministry six years ago bringing new ideas and partnership.
With heightened government scrutiny, Chip and Jean left India December 2017, to pursue their ‘Third Calling’. On September 10, 2018 Chip’s soul was ushered into heaven after a brief fight with an aggressive kidney cancer. Memorial services were held in Simi Valley, California and Bangalore, India.
Jean is continuing the legacy they began together solo. She is a licensed minister with the Western Region Missionary Church. Jean serves on the leadership team at Cornerstone Church, focusing on families affected by disability. The goal of her recent book, "The Crimson Thread Through Disability: Discover God’s Heart and Your Part", is to globally train pastors and church leaders to embrace disability ministry… multiplying the Luke 14 model.
