About Steve & Toby

Steve and Toby established their family in 1974 and have been in ministry for 50 years.  They are the proud parents of 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law and 8 grandchildren. Their ministry started in Mississippi, teaching Bible in a Christian high school. From there, they traveled to Kentucky, where Steve graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1977. Directly after graduation they began their pastoral ministry in Washington and Idaho.  After 6 years, they joined the pastoral staff of Calvary Church in St. Peters, Missouri where they served for 10 years. Following this pastorate, they joined the staff of a young church plant, Crossroads Fellowship, in Raleigh, North Carolina where they ministered for 14 years in various roles.

In 2004, Toby and Steve went to Ukraine on a short-term mission trip with Global Aid Network, (GAiN) the relief and development arm of Campus Crusade for Christ/Cru. In 2005, they became full-time missionaries with GAiN, making their home in Dallas, Texas at the GAiN USA office. Steve served as the Vice President of Mobilization. Toby worked in the office supporting staff members and volunteers. Both traveled extensively several times a year ministering to people and supporting churches.

In 2013, Steve and Toby left GAiN to join GTN. Throughout their ministry they have had a great heart for training, mentoring, resourcing and encouraging pastors, Christian leaders and their wives. Steve has been involved training pastors and helping leaders internationally to become all they can be in Christ so that they can win others and build up the Body of Christ. Toby has a wonderful heart for people and is nurturing pastor’s wives and other women overseas.

In the last 11 years with GTN, they have trained more than 2,000 people in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mexico, and here in the States. Their ministry with GTN focuses on developing leaders who will be able to fulfill 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
